From what I have researched, Bormann ran away from the bunker in which Goebbels and Hitler and Goebbls comited suicide, so he just ran away instead of commiting suicide himself. In his ways he had to get away because Soviet Union was coming to attack.
Who He Was
Before all of this, he was the replacement for Hitler's Deputy, in his quest to make England have peace with Hitler. Knowing also to be responsible for "expultion" of millions of Jews to Poland. He took resposibility in charge of funds for the Aid fund of the SA as the Chancellery (1941) Though, there is no evidence on his attendance to Hitler's meetings about war. But that also makes him part of slave labor programs and prisoners of war programs. Councilmen tried to say he was dead because they were just assuming that. He is excused from the trial until he is found and executed.
That is all for that matter, on to the interview. Interview With Martin Bormann
Q: Why did you go into hiding?
A: When I heard, had no choice but to run because the Soviets were coming at that time and place.
Q: Why didn't you commit suicide in the first place?
A: I chose to be a mystery to the world for a while.
Q: What do you mean mystery?
A: I was only the secretary of Hitler so what is the purpose of showing in the trials.
Q: What was the reason for running away from the courts?
A: I knew that my council would be careless about it.
Q: Why did you think like that?
A: It was the people, they thought of me as very uncivilized!
Q: Interesting, now where were you hiding?
A: I will not share that information to the public newspaper, only for the courts to know! Why do I have to go to the courts? Like I said, I’m only a secretary person.
Q: Do you understand that the courts might try you eventually?
A: I’ll just stay in hiding for even longer.
Q: On to another subject; why didn’t you stand up for your country?
A: I already knew I was going to be put to death in the end.
Q: So you just let time pass by now did you?
A: I was close to Hitler in being his secretary and I didn’t want to commit suicide and be like Goebbels and him.
Q: After eventually being caught, did you feel the same about standing up for the Nazi, Germany party, like the other members of the participation in it?
A: I felt the same as them; I wanted to stand up for my country.
Q: Don’t you think it is rather harsh to be sentenced to death?
A: It makes me regret not committing suicide.
Q: Do you really think you had a crime against humanity?
A: No, but technically according to the court I did because I might of shared ideas with Hitler in his plans for all those Jews.
Q: Did you think the courts over did it when sentencing you to death?
A: I would rather die for my country if you put it that way.
Q: Coming to another subject, did you think Hitler did the right thing to commit suicide.
A: No, not really!
Q: Why do you say that?
A: I wouldn’t have to be dealing with crazy reporters like you and I wouldn’t have had to go to court! It was all quite simply that.
Q: Since there isn’t much left to talk about, what do you want to say as a final statement?
A: To end this talk I would like to thank the editor of this paper for interviewing me. Though I’m to be sent off to my death I must say this, sometimes I wonder how Germany trusted Hitler so much. It was like we were under a spell and he persuaded that he could improve the economy. But I must support Hitler and his smart ways to improve Germany for a better tomorow. I had my ways in knowing what Hitler wanted; I knew what he wanted and I encouraged him to do what he wants.
